Violet Eckles-Jordan is a mixed-disciplinary artist in search of methods of self-healing. Her work
spans from writing in forms of poetry and personal essays to sculpture and performance. She is
working from a place of displacement and is using making as a method of recentering herself
and rethinking her existence in the world. She works with common objects like fruits, concrete,
ropes, and the things she lives with. This connects her and her work to the world and locates
the places and she is and has been. Making space for healing through the acts of self
discovery, and the projection of those discoveries.

She studied Writing and Performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and continues
to make work of all forms in Chicago, Il.
