Nat LaChall is an activist artist and teacher utilizing photography, performance, costume, sound
and video. Her work speaks to struggle, resistance, identity, politics and death. Mass participation
through survey, performance and portraiture, give voice to communities while activating her work.
Recent work includes an auditory and photographic exploration of her family’s immigration to the
United States. As well as a video performance criticizing Mayor Marty Walsh for Boston’s reckless
gentrification and displacement of residents.
