Ally Almore is a queer photographer based on the southside of Chicago. She has over 6 years of experience in photography. Photophilic from an early age, she fell in love with street photography first -chasing the sun across Pilsen, and later across Chicago. This passion fueled a love for the camera and creating visual narratives while capturing her various communities. her internships with the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Photography and the Chicago Artists Coalition in 2011 and 2012 respectively. After briefly attending Savannah College of Art and Design, she returned home and dove deep into portraiture. These days, she focuses primarily on portrait, fashion, lifestyle, photojournalism, nightlife and event photography. In 2016, she joined F4F, a black and femme focused DIY alternative space in the Little Village neighborhood and became their resident photographer. She currently has a residency with Sixty Inches in partnership with Illinois Humanities Envisioning Justice program. When she’s not busy capturing, she’s probably talking to one of her cats over a cup of tea.
