Carolina Poveda

Carolina Poveda was born in Miami Florida to immigrant parents from Venezuela and Cuba. They attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for their undergraduate studies. Poveda is a polymathic artist and community organizer with the Chicago Skillshare Network. Their interests currently lie with photography, fiber art, and sculpture tied to ideas of de/colonization, ancestral communion and the spirit of the divine.
Olive Stefanski

Olive Stefanski is a multidisciplinary artist who creates performance art, fiber art, and sound. Both solo and collaboratively, Stefanski has shown their work at the Fundación del Centro Cultural del México Contemporáneo (CDMX), Defibrillator performance art gallery (CHI), Mana Contemporary (CHI), Links Hall (CHI), the Roman Susan Gallery (CHI), Threewalls Gallery (CHI), the International Museum of Surgical Science (CHI), and Roots and Culture (CHI).
They received their BA in Women’s and Gender Studies at DePaul University and their MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They continue their education as an apprentice at the Chicago Weaving School and as a certified Reiki Master, taught in the Usui Reiki Ryôhô tradition by Yvonne E Nieves, Reiki Master Teacher.
Stefanski is also a founding member and co-organizer of the Chicago Skillshare Network, a grassroots education collective dedicated to organizing economically accessible, peer to peer workshops that teach creative skills.
